CLEMENTINE ORANGE ESSENTIAL OIL

Size: 5 ml. Violet glass bottle

Botanical Name: Citrus deliciosa, Clementina variety

Source: Italy

Method: Cold-pressed

Note: This is one of my favorites for adding to an aromatherapy blend with a citrus twist. Looking to create a fresh, clean scent? Add lemon along with orange to your diffuser.

All citrus oils are photo-toxic, and it is best not to apply within 24 hours of sun exposure, as it can increase the sun's effect on the skin.

Clementine Orange essential oil is a rare oil with a fresh sweet scent of beautiful delicate notes. Italy’s climate and the co-creative process combine to produce this superior and highly aromatic gift. It is calming and relaxing when diffused, and mild enough to use with small children.

Energetically, it is emotionally uplifting without being overly stimulating. It is a powerful disinfectant, with antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. Diffusing it can neutralize molds and bacteria, and purify the air.

In natural perfumery, Clementine Orange essential oil is used much like sweet orange essential oil. The aroma is not unlike the fresh fruit, and makes a fine addition to colognes, florals, culinary perfumes, chypres, and fougeres. It blends nicely with all citrus oils, and especially with tangerine, mandarins, and sweet orange. It is a sweet, bright, and layered aroma–one of the finest of all the citrus oils.

Observations and Anecdotal Information

Clementine orange essential oil is an antioxidant. It has anti-tumoral effects similar to Sweet Orange essential oil.

It alleviates insomnia when inhaled before bedtime. It is a powerful anti-depressant, helping to counteract moodiness and depression.

It can relieve bronchial spasm, and can be helpful for healing asthma and clearing emotional factors influencing the disease. It can be inhaled or applied topically in a lung compress for these purposes.

This oil adds a sweet bright flavor to foods, and makes a great addition to salad dressings, juices, and smoothies.
